Peter Okoye, one half of the popular Nigerian music duo P-Square, has finally spoken out after his twin brother Paul Okoye accused him of orchestrating his recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Okoye brothers had a highly publicized split in 2017 due to disagreements over their older brother Jude Okoye’s management role, but had seemingly reconciled in November 2021, even performing together at a concert in December. However, Paul’s recent statements suggest that P-Square is no longer active, and he shockingly claimed that Peter was behind his EFCC arrest.
Peter Okoye took to social media to address the allegations, questioning his brother’s motives and defending his contributions to the duo.
He vehemently denied being in competition with Paul and expressed frustration over what he sees as a misleading narrative being presented to their fans. Peter emphasized that he has always prioritized the success of P-Square, and it’s disheartening to see his brother perpetuate harmful claims.
He wrote:
The public feud between the Okoye brothers has left fans stunned and disappointed, especially after their highly anticipated reunion. Peter’s response highlights the deep-seated issues still plaguing the duo, threatening to derail their musical partnership once again. As the situation unfolds, fans can only hope for a resolution that preserves the legacy of P-Square and allows the brothers to reconcile their differences.
