The National Cybercrime Centre of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a prankster known as Zfancy in Abuja for threatening video pranks. According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Zfancy was apprehended at an apartment in the Wuye area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The arrest followed the circulation of accusatory videos on social media, alleging that the suspect had committed serious crimes, including rape.
These videos caused significant apprehension among social media users. The suspect claimed the videos were scripted as part of an attempt to regain the spotlight after a break.
Adejobi emphasized that such actions have serious implications and cannot be taken lightly.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to maintaining public safety and holding individuals accountable for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.He warned pranksters and content creators to abide by the law and avoid pranks that could pose threats to public safety and security.
Adejobi further urged the public to remain calm as the police proceed with the necessary legal actions in the case.
