Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has publicly apologized, acknowledging that her past controversies have negatively affected her reputation and career.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram on March 20, 2025, the actress opened up about the frustrations she faces due to being constantly judged by past mistakes and a highly publicized relationship.
While she admitted to taking full responsibility for her actions, she also expressed sadness over how these incidents have shaped people’s perceptions of her.
“I know I have made mistakes, and I own up to them, but it hurts that I am still seen as a controversial person even when I have moved on,” she said.
She further revealed that the stigma surrounding her name has impacted her ability to secure business opportunities and genuine friendships.
According to her, potential partners and friends are often discouraged from associating with her because of preconceived notions formed by online drama.
Nkechi admitted that she initially tried to defend herself aggressively but has since chosen to focus on personal growth and positivity.
“I meet someone who genuinely likes me and wants to help me—nothing romantic, just someone who sees potential in me. But the moment they ask around, they hear, ‘Ah! Stay away from her o, she will drag you online,’ and just like that, they disappear,” she lamented.
The actress emphasized that she is not blaming anyone but herself for this situation, acknowledging that her past behavior contributed to the negative perception.
However, she pleaded with the public to allow her to build new relationships without judgment.
“I know I made all of you see me that way, but that is not who I am. Please, let me have friends and business partners in peace. Let people get to know me for themselves before making conclusions. I have lost countless deals because of this, but by God’s grace, I keep pushing forward,” she said.
In an earnest appeal, Nkechi Blessing asked for a fresh start, requesting that people refrain from discouraging others from working with her.
She stressed that she is a different person now and is committed to proving that she is more than her past mistakes. “This is my sincere apology to everyone who has ever seen me as a troublemaker, a nuisance, or a notoriety. I am truly sorry for any negative impression I may have left. I beg you in the name of God, if you see someone who wants to collaborate with me, give them the benefit of the doubt. Let them experience me for who I really am,” she pleaded.
Concluding her message, Nkechi assured potential collaborators that she is a hardworking and professional individual who values meaningful connections.
She expressed hope that with time, people will recognize her true nature rather than define her by past controversies.
