Popular Nollywood actor and comedian Okey Bakassi has been officially crowned as the king of Umuihuocha, his hometown in Imo State.

The veteran entertainer took to Instagram on May 7, 2025, to share the joyful news with his fans, posting a heartfelt video from the colorful coronation ceremony.

Surrounded by family members, friends, well-wishers, and respected leaders of the community, Bakassi wore the regal attire of a traditional ruler, his face glowing with pride and happiness.

In the video, a voice from the gathering could be heard proclaiming, “This is the day we have long awaited. Our son, Okey Bakassi, has been chosen by the people, and today, we crown him king.”

Traditional music played in the background, with dancers adding a festive touch to the occasion.
