Nollywood filmmaker Mildred Okwo unveiled first-look photos of her upcoming romantic comedy “On Different Grounds” on Instagram on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Okwo captioned the photos with, “Toast to the ‘in-laws’ on a wedding Saturday. @ondifferentgrounds the movie.”
While the plot and release date remain undisclosed, the film promises a star-studded cast including Bob Manuel Udokwu, Jennifer Eliogu, Uche Jombo, and others. The movie is produced by Nicole Ndigwe-Kalu.

Mildred Okwo, a seasoned Nollywood filmmaker, transitioned from a career in law in Los Angeles to filmmaking. She is a founding member of the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC), which is authorized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to screen Nigerian films for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.
Okwo’s directorial debut was “30 Days” in 2005, which earned nine Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). She has also directed other notable films including “Suru Lére,” “La Femme Anjola,” and the award-winning “The Meeting” (2012), which garnered accolades from the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and the Nollywood Movies Awards.
