Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has recently expressed his frustration with critics and bloggers who have been scrutinizing his marriage to actress Peggy Ovire.
On December 26, 2024, the actor took to Instagram to make it clear that he is no longer willing to tolerate the constant interference in his personal life. In a post addressed to the individuals he accuses of spreading false information about his marriage, Leonard firmly stated that his relationship with Peggy is nobody’s business.
“Dear idle and Uzless bloggers, with your empty-headed followers, leave me and my wife’s name out of your contaminated blogs,” he began, pointing out that their intrusive behavior serves no purpose other than to create unnecessary drama.
Leonard further emphasized his point by asserting that the ongoing gossip around his marriage does not affect anyone’s life in any meaningful way. “This marriage IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS,” he declared. “What goes on in this marriage will not make your lives better or put food on your table.”
He pointed out the bigger societal issues, such as bad leadership and widespread poverty, which he believes are compounded by the growing stupidity and misdirection of people’s energy. He added, “Y’all should LEAVE US ALONE! Since we got married, y’all have been sniffing like hungry dogs looking for what you will never find.”
The actor also addressed several rumors and criticisms surrounding his marriage, specifically regarding his wife’s social media activity. Some people had criticized Peggy for posting Christmas photos without him or for taking actions that some deemed inappropriate, but Leonard made it clear that their marriage is none of the public’s concern.
“We DO NOT OWE this Toxic social media space any explanation for our action or a sneak peek of what’s happening in our Home,” he stated. “Marriage is Not SLAVERY! She can post Christmas photos without me in it. She can rest her fingers and not wear her ring, I bought the ring and I’m not complaining. She can go on vacation without me, IT’S NOT YOUR BUSINESS.”
Leonard made it abundantly clear that Peggy, like any individual, is entitled to live her life without public judgment. “She can wear short dresses cos she’s a stunning woman, and the bush ones amongst you will BE ALRIGHT. She can Live her Life and be happy!” he proclaimed.
He also emphasized that he, too, would continue to live his life happily and fulfilled, free from the constraints of public opinion. Leonard further stressed that their personal decisions should not be a source of public scrutiny, especially when it comes to the freedom to express themselves and live their lives as they see fit.
Leonard also tackled the issue of his professional career and how it intertwines with his personal life. In response to concerns about his on-screen kissing scenes, which some critics assumed would stop now that he is married, the actor strongly asserted his right to remain professional.
“I’m not gonna stop kissing in movies cos I’m now married or cos of what some UnENLIGHTENED dumb fuvks will think,” he said. “No professional actor anywhere in the world does that.” He made it clear that his work as an actor should be viewed separately from his personal life and that he will not allow ignorant opinions to dictate his career.
In concluding his message, Leonard sent a clear warning to those continuing to engage in negative gossip about him and his wife. “This will be the last time The LEONARDS will address Blogs and social media idiocy,” he declared, adding that if the harassment continues, he and Peggy would simply laugh it off. “
If y’all decide to continue in your folly after this post, my wife and I will just relax and laugh, as the senseless one will become a source of entertainment for us,” he wrote. Leonard ended with a firm and loving statement, “PEGGY AND I ARE DIFFERENT! read that again. LEAVE US ALONE! I LOVE MY WIFE AND MY WIFE LOVES ME.”
