Oasis has confirmed that brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher will reunite for a series of highly anticipated shows in 2025, marking their first performances together in 15 years. The reunion comes just ahead of the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Definitely Maybe, and includes major concerts in Wembley, Manchester, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland in July and August 2025.

The announcement, made by both brothers on social media, has been met with excitement from fans who have eagerly awaited this moment since the band’s infamous split in 2009.

The decision to reunite was described as a gradual realization that the timing was right, rather than a sudden epiphany. The band hinted at the significance of the upcoming anniversary as a subconscious factor in their decision.

The concerts will be their only European shows next year, quashing rumors of a Glastonbury headline appearance, though there are plans for additional performances later in 2025. However, details about the reunion lineup, including which former band members will join them, have not yet been disclosed.

Speculation about a potential reunion had been growing in recent weeks, fueled by comments from Liam and reports from music insiders. Liam, who had recently dedicated a performance of “Half The World Away” to Noel during his solo tour, had also been dropping hints on social media.

Meanwhile, Noel, who has been touring with his band, the High Flying Birds, remained characteristically cheeky, reminding fans of his role as the primary songwriter behind Oasis’s biggest hits.

The news of the reunion is a significant moment in British music history, as Oasis was one of the defining bands of the 1990s, known for hits like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Live Forever.” Their split in 2009, caused by a backstage altercation in Paris, became legendary, with Noel dramatically quitting the band after Liam damaged one of his guitars.

The feud between the brothers has been well-documented, with public insults and a lack of communication keeping fans doubtful of a reunion for many years.

Now, after 15 years, the Gallagher brothers have reconciled, giving fans the long-awaited opportunity to see Oasis live once more. In celebration of the anniversary, previously unheard versions of tracks from the first recording session of Definitely Maybe will also be released, adding to the excitement surrounding the reunion.

In anticipation of the announcement, Oasis’s music has seen a surge in popularity, with streams increasing by more than 160% globally.
