Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Femi Odugbemi has been appointed to serve on the International Engagement Committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This prestigious committee is tasked with shaping the Academy’s global engagement strategy, focusing on vital areas like the membership process, governance, and impact programs.

Odugbemi’s one-year tenure, running until June 30, 2025, will involve collaborating with international professionals to support the Academy’s mission of fostering inclusivity and strengthening its influence across the global film industry. The committee will hold virtual meetings in mid-October, February, and April to accommodate members across different time zones.

Odugbemi expressed his excitement at joining the committee, stating his eagerness to contribute to promoting global representation within the film industry. He emphasized the importance of working with other committee members to drive meaningful engagement worldwide.
