Afrobeats continues to achieve global success, with Nigerian music amassing millions of streams and winning prestigious awards in Europe and America. In a significant milestone for Nigerian artist Omah Lay, his hit single “Soso” has been certified platinum in France by SNEP, the official certification body.

This recognition comes after “Soso” surpassed 30 million streams in France.”Soso,” released as part of Omah Lay’s debut album “Boy Alone,” has enjoyed considerable success, charting in multiple countries.

The single achieved digital triumph with 186 million Spotify streams and 142 million views on YouTube.

A remix featuring Ozuna, included in the deluxe version of the album, also garnered over 20 million Spotify streams.

Produced by Tempoe, “Soso” is Omah Lay’s most commercially successful record to date, adding to his collection of hits such as “Damn,” “Understand,” “Reason,” and “Godly,” the latter of which held the No. 1 spot on TurnTable Top 100 for 11 weeks.

The platinum certification of “Soso” in France underscores the growing popularity of Afrobeats in the country, joining other certified hits like Burna Boy’s “On The Low” and “Last Last,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” Oxlade’s “Kulosa,” CKay’s “Love Nwantiti,” and Rema’s “Calm Down.”
