The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics is set to be a star-studded event, featuring performances by California natives Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

These artists will take the stage during the handover to the 2028 Los Angeles Games, with H.E.R. also expected to perform the U.S. national anthem live at the Stade de France.

The event is seen as a significant moment in the lead-up to the LA28 Olympics, marking the official transition of the Olympic flag from Paris to Los Angeles.

Casey Wasserman, the chairperson of LA28, emphasized the importance of this moment, describing it as the biggest in LA28 history so far.

Wasserman expressed excitement about showcasing the best of Los Angeles through local artists and expressed gratitude to the performers for their collaboration in creating a spectacular show for a global audience. This ceremony aims to give fans a preview of what to expect at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

The closing ceremony will follow a memorable opening ceremony that featured performances by Lady Gaga and the return of Celine Dion, who took the stage despite her battle with stiff person syndrome.

Los Angeles is set to host the Olympics for the third time, having previously held the Games in 1984 and 1932. The 2028 Games will also mark the city’s first time hosting the Paralympics, further solidifying its place in Olympic history.
