“What About Us?”, a film produced by Pastor Emmanuel Iren, earned ₦24.6 million in its first week at the cinemas. Filmone Studios, the film’s distribution company, announced this achievement on Monday, July 16, 2024, expressing gratitude to Nigerian audiences for their support.
The movie, which premiered on July 12, 2024, follows the strained relationship of a couple complicated further by a new couple moving in next door. The wife begins a relationship with the new neighbor’s husband, causing additional tension.
Pastor Iren, the executive producer and story originator, collaborated with screenwriter Ife Olujuyigbe and director Kayode Kasum.
Bisola Badejo and Tochukwu Macdonald Sunday served as producers. The cast features Uzor Arukwe, Folu Storms, Kunle Remi, Teniola Aladese, Seyi Awolowo, Marycolette Unamka, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.Pastor Iren, also a pastor, gospel singer, and songwriter, leads Celebration Church International (CCI).
He produced the film under his Narrative Entertainment production company. In an Instagram post, Iren celebrated the film’s success, calling it “just the beginning” and thanking supporters for making it the top Nollywood movie and the number one overall movie last weekend.
