During a performance of In The Night Garden in Cardiff over the weekend, the show was abruptly halted due to reports of a threatening phone call received by the New Theatre. South Wales Police responded to the incident, conducting a thorough search of the premises, but found no cause for concern.

Despite this, a full evacuation of the theater was carried out as a precautionary measure. Authorities are treating the incident as a malicious hoax and are continuing their investigation.

In The Night Garden Live, part of a UK tour, features beloved characters from the BBC children’s series, including Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, and Makka Pakka. The performance in Cardiff, scheduled from May 2nd to May 4th, was disrupted by the incident.

A spokesperson for the New Theatre confirmed the suspension of the show and assured that there was ultimately no risk identified by the police. Apologies were extended to disappointed customers, with refunds being processed, albeit with potential delays due to the bank holiday period.
