Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, has strongly denied claims of being behind his older brother Jude Okoye’s ongoing legal troubles through his management.

Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, had accused his twin brother, Peter Okoye, of putting their older brother Jude Okoye’s behind bars.

During a press interview on Friday, Paul alleged that Peter had petitioned both him and Jude to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which led to their being summoned for questioning by the anti-graft agency.

His accusations sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry, reigniting old wounds from the infamous P-Square feud that first surfaced years ago.

Peter Okoye through his representative, Emem Kush, released a statement dismissing Paul’s allegations as baseless and misleading.

“I don’t know who Peter is on this issue. And I don’t think he has any comment on this matter,” Emem said.

She further clarified that the case was between the EFCC and Jude Okoye, emphasizing that Peter had nothing to do with his older brother’s legal woes.

“The petition was against the company that has been receiving funds on his behalf. And he knew nothing about it. Don’t mix up issues, and let’s not create issues where there are none,” she added.

The legal trouble in question stems from allegations that Jude Okoye was involved in a ₦1.38 billion fraud case.

Following an EFCC investigation, he was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday. The court ordered his remand in prison until his bail hearing, scheduled for March.

While Paul has come forward to defend Jude, he has placed the blame squarely on Peter, insisting that his twin brother is responsible for Jude’s predicament.

“It is not about supporting him because I know the truth,” Paul stated during the press briefing. “And the truth is, unfortunately, the way the journalists are making it look like he is a fraud. Let’s call a spade a spade. Peter is the one putting Jude in this mess, simple. It is Peter that is doing this, putting him in prison, and I’m here to bring him out.”

The family drama surrounding the Okoye brothers is not new. Their feud, which first became public in 2015, led to the eventual breakup of P-Square in 2017.

For years, fans were left disheartened as the once inseparable duo pursued solo careers, often throwing subtle jabs at each other in interviews and on social media.

However, in 2022, they seemingly reconciled, thrilling fans with a joint performance and the release of new songs, Jaiye and Find Somebody.

Just when it seemed like their bond had been restored, tensions erupted again in 2024, culminating in Paul publicly confirming that the duo had once again gone their separate ways during an interview on City FM radio.

The latest fallout between the brothers appears to have deepened the rift beyond music, now spilling into serious legal matters.

While Peter has denied having a direct hand in Jude’s legal troubles, he has acknowledged filing a petition to expose what he calls an act of betrayal by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.

However, he insists that his petition had nothing to do with EFCC’s ongoing fraud case against Jude. This detail has only fueled further speculation, as many wonder whether Peter’s accusations led authorities to investigate Jude in the first place.

Paul, on the other hand, remains steadfast in his belief that Peter is responsible for their older brother’s predicament. He expressed frustration over the way the media has portrayed Jude as a fraudster, arguing that the allegations against him were blown out of proportion.

According to Paul, Peter’s actions were driven by personal vendettas rather than genuine concerns about wrongdoing. He further implied that if Peter had not petitioned Jude, none of this would have happened.

“It’s unfortunate that family matters have come to this,” Paul lamented. “This is not how it should be. Family should be family, no matter what.”

Despite Paul’s emotional defense of Jude, Peter’s manager maintained that the accusations against him were completely false.

When asked about the details of the case, Emem Kush deflected, stating, “The EFCC was the one that received all of this, so I think it’s best to speak to them to know the facts of the case and their findings. I don’t represent the EFCC. I’m not a spokesman for the EFCC. I’m not a spokesman for either party, so I can’t tell you.”

This response suggested that Peter’s camp was unwilling to engage further in the controversy, leaving the public to speculate about what really happened behind the scenes.

As the situation continues to unfold, fans of P-Square and industry observers remain divided.

Some believe that Peter has every right to expose any wrongdoings he may have discovered, while others feel that his actions, whether intentional or not, have contributed to Jude’s legal troubles.

Meanwhile, Paul’s unwavering support for Jude has sparked questions about his own involvement in the case and whether he could be implicated as well.

With Jude’s bail hearing set for March, many are eagerly watching to see how this high-profile family feud will play out in the coming weeks.
