Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo, has officially married her Tanzanian sweetheart, singer Juma Jux, in a lavish traditional wedding that captivated both social media and the entertainment industry.

The ceremony, held on Thursday in Lagos, brought together a constellation of Nigerian celebrities and culture lovers who came to celebrate the union of two hearts across borders.

The couple had previously tied the knot in a quiet customary ceremony in Tanzania earlier in February, but their Nigerian celebration was a larger affair that blended opulence with tradition. Social media has since been flooded with visuals of the wedding, drawing admiration for its vibrant aesthetic and the stunning fashion on display.

Among the Nollywood stars in attendance were Mercy Aigbe, Destiny Etiko, and Toyin Abraham, who were seen not only celebrating but actively supporting the event.

Videos showed the actresses assisting the bride and joining in the dances, adding extra glamour to an already star-studded occasion. “We came to support our girl, and this celebration is a true blend of love and culture,” Toyin Abraham was overheard saying in one of the clips.

In one of the most heartwarming moments of the ceremony, 83-year-old juju music legend, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, made a surprise appearance.

His presence at the event delighted both guests and fans, with many describing it as “a blessing to witness.” The musical icon even gave a brief performance, which had the crowd on their feet in admiration and nostalgia.

The fashion of the day was a sight to behold. Priscilla stunned in a regal ensemble featuring a long-sleeved asooke blouse and a dramatically layered skirt, all adorned with shimmering sequins and stones.

Her look was completed with a purple gele and a matching ipele, creating a majestic appearance worthy of a Yoruba queen. “She looks like royalty,” one guest gushed on social media.

Juma Jux did not disappoint either. He matched his bride in a majestic purple asooke agbada decorated with orange and gold accents.

His royal blue cap with orange details and a purple staff crowned with a carved map of Africa added a symbolic richness to his look.

“I wanted something that reflects our union—Africa united,” Jux said in a brief comment to reporters at the event.

The bridal party added another layer of beauty and colour. Groomsmen turned heads in soft pink agbadas while the bridesmaids shimmered in stylish pink traditional dresses, complete with intricately tied gele headwraps.

The couple’s entrance into the venue, flanked by this eye-catching entourage, was nothing short of cinematic. Guests were treated to a dreamy atmosphere, with the hall decorated in white and gold florals and sparkling chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

Before the Nigerian ceremony, videos of Juma Jux’s family boarding a flight to Lagos had already begun making rounds online. It showed his relatives arriving in large numbers to support the celebration, highlighting the strong bond between the two families.

This isn’t just a wedding; it’s a cultural fusion that represents love without borders,” Iyabo Ojo proudly stated as she welcomed her new in-laws to Nigeria.

In an intimate pre-wedding interview with BellaNaija Weddings, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux shared his deep joy and excitement over marrying Priscilla Ojo, the 24-year-old daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo.

With a beaming smile, Jux declared, “It’s exciting — a dream come true. From the first day I met Priscilla, I knew she was an amazing soul.” His words painted the picture of a man who had found his match, full of gratitude and admiration for the journey they had taken together.

Speaking further on how their love story unfolded, the 35-year-old artist revealed that his connection with Priscilla was instant. “I knew instantly she was the one. I couldn’t wait to put a ring on her hand,” he said with conviction.

That clarity, he added, shaped the way he approached their relationship, culminating in a proposal that not only made headlines but also tugged at the hearts of fans who had followed their romance.

Their love story, which had blossomed quietly, took center stage in a celebration that fused culture, glamour, and affection.

Iyabo Ojo, proud mother of the bride, also gave her perspective during the interview. Reflecting on the kind of man her daughter had chosen, she said, “I knew Juma was the one, seeing how international he is about family. I always hoped Priscilla would get married in her early 20s.”

Her sentiment revealed a quiet fulfillment, seeing her daughter not only fall in love but also choose someone who valued unity and family bonds deeply. Iyabo’s approval was clear, and it set the tone for a wedding that radiated warmth and harmony.

One of the most talked-about surprises of the ceremony was the presence of Iyabo’s estranged husband, Ademidun Ojo, who flew into Lagos for the wedding festivities.

Despite their separation, Ademidun played an active role in the celebration. A viral video showed him warmly welcoming guests at the hotel where he stayed, while another heart-melting clip captured the moment he embraced Juma Jux, signaling respect, acceptance, and the merging of two families.

Even more touching was a video of Iyabo and Ademidun dancing together in matching traditional attire—an unexpected but beautiful display of unity for their daughter’s big day.

The festivities were not limited to the grand traditional wedding in Lagos. The couple had earlier hosted a quiet introduction ceremony in Tanzania, surrounded by close friends and relatives.

Just ahead of Valentine’s Day, Jux surprised Priscilla again with a second proposal, this time with a more dazzling ring, in a romantic gesture shared on social media.

They sealed their love with a civil wedding the next day, attended by a select few celebrity friends including Toyin Abraham, Chioma Good Hair, and Enioluwa.

Their multi-layered wedding celebration embodied not only the blending of cultures but the powerful support of family and community.
