ROLE: DIRECTOR LAZARUS (Lead – Male, 30–55)

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:

Director Lazarus is a passionate, no-nonsense Nollywood filmmaker who believes absolutely in his directorial vision — and wants everyone to obey it without argument.
He interrupts everybody, talks fast when annoyed, and reacts dramatically to the smallest production error. When his lead actress insists on keeping a fake moustache during the wrong scene, he spirals into a hilarious meltdown, racing across set with a makeup wipe like a man fighting for his legacy. He is fiery, expressive, exhausted, but lovable in his own grumpy way.

2. Create a short improv clip of Director Lazarus using the downloaded script
   1. The video clip should include name, age, height, location, and acting background

SELF-TAPE AUDITION GUIDELINES

Please read carefully before submitting your audition.

GENERAL SETUP

Camera & Framing

• Use a phone or camera in landscape mode
• Frame from mid-chest to just above the head
• Keep the camera at eye level
• Do not move the camera during the take

Lighting

• Face a natural light source or use a soft light
• Avoid harsh shadows on the face
• Do not backlight yourself

Sound

• Record in a quiet space
• Ensure your voice is clear and audible
• Avoid background music or noise

PERFORMANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Tone & Style

• This is a comedy-drama, not a skit
• Play the character truthfully, even when exaggerated
• Avoid cartoon acting — energy should feel natural but bold
  

Language

• Perform in 95% English
• Add light Nigerian Pidgin only where it feels organic
• Accents should be authentic (do not overdo it)
