CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

Angelina is a new, ambitious actor with little professional experience but a strong instinct for performance.  Think: raw ambition meets emotional intelligence, with vulnerability used both honestly and strategically.

PERFORMANCE NOTES

• Must convincingly portray vulnerability, defensiveness, and emotional manipulation
• Ability to switch quickly between sincerity and strategy
• Strong emotional range without overacting
• Comfortable performing dramatic crying scenes with control
• Ability to balance comedy with grounded emotional truth

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Please submit:

• A 1–2 minute dramatic monologue for Angelina (View & Download Angelina's Monologue)
• Optional: a short improvised clip reacting to being accused of double-booking
• Self-tape must begin with name, age, height, location, and acting background

Please read carefully before submitting your audition.

GENERAL SETUP

Camera & Framing

• Use a phone or camera in landscape mode
• Frame from mid-chest to just above the head
• Keep the camera at eye level
• Do not move the camera during the take

Lighting

• Face a natural light source or use a soft light
• Avoid harsh shadows on the face
• Do not backlight yourself

Sound

• Record in a quiet space
• Ensure your voice is clear and audible
• Avoid background music or noise

PERFORMANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Tone & Style

• This is a comedy-drama, not a skit
• Play the character truthfully, even when exaggerated
• Avoid cartoon acting — energy should feel natural but bold
  

Language

• Perform in 95% English
• Add light Nigerian Pidgin only where it feels organic
• Accents should be authentic (do not overdo it)
