Character Description:

Nkechi is a no-nonsense, business-first costume designer with a larger-than-life personality and a thick Igbo accent. She takes immense pride in her fashion creations and does not tolerate damage, disrespect, or delayed payment. When an actress returns a rented gown torn and soaked in palm oil stew, Nkechi brings the heat—literally and figuratively. She’s dramatic, sharp-tongued, and ready to go to war for her wardrobe.

Performance Notes:

• Must be able to command the stage with volume and presence
• Strong comedic timing and ability to portray controlled outrage
• Must deliver lines in a strong Igbo accent (regardless of tribe)
• Ability to ad-lib rants and dramatic gestures a plus
• Familiarity with Nigerian fashion culture and satire is an advantage

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

• A short improv clip showing Nkechi confronting someone who stained her designer dress
• Include your name, age, height, location, and acting background in the same clip

GENERAL SETUP

Camera & Framing

• Use a phone or camera in landscape mode
• Frame from mid-chest to just above the head
• Keep the camera at eye level
• Do not move the camera during the take

Lighting

• Face a natural light source or use a soft light
• Avoid harsh shadows on the face
• Do not backlight yourself

Sound

• Record in a quiet space
• Ensure your voice is clear and audible
• Avoid background music or noise

PERFORMANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Tone & Style

• This is a comedy-drama, not a skit
• Play the character truthfully, even when exaggerated
• Avoid cartoon acting — energy should feel natural but bold
  

Language

• Perform in 95% English
• Add light Nigerian Pidgin only where it feels organic
• Accents should be authentic (do not overdo it)
