Radio 1’s Big Weekend lineup receives a boost with the addition of new names like AJ Tracey and London Grammar, joining headliners Coldplay, Raye, and Chase & Status at Luton’s Stockwood Park from May 24 to 26. Greg James announced the latest additions, completing the lineup for the three-day event.

Notably, this year’s festival marks the first time artists will perform across all four stages for the entire duration, a departure from previous years where Friday was reserved for an 18-plus dance night. With over 100,000 music enthusiasts expected, the festival promises an electrifying atmosphere.

The lineup diversifies with Nathan Dawe and Wilkinson added to Friday’s schedule, Jax Jones to Saturday’s, and AJ Tracey, London Grammar, and Remi Wolf set to perform on Sunday.

Earlier announcements revealed an exciting mix of artists, including Chase & Status, Becky Hill, Rudimental, and Ella Henderson gracing the main stage on opening Friday, followed by Raye, Aitch, Griff, and Mabel on Saturday.

The finale on Sunday features Coldplay, Sabrina Carpenter, Olly Alexander, and Vampire Weekend captivating the audience.

Stockwood Park’s location in the southern part of Luton, a brief 10-minute drive from Luton FC’s Kenilworth Road ground, sets the stage for a memorable musical experience.

Luton’s significance extends beyond hosting the festival, being the hometown of notable figures like actress Emily Atack, presenter Stacy Dooley, and cricketer Monty Panesar.

After a hiatus due to Covid-19, the festival made a triumphant return in 2022 in Coventry, marking a resurgence of live music events.
