Sabrina Carpenter has set a new UK chart record by becoming the youngest female artist to hold the top two singles spots in the same week. The US singer’s single “Please Please Please” reached number one on the Official Charts Company rundown, dethroning her own “Espresso,” which had been at the top for five weeks and is now at number two.

“Please Please Please” amassed 9.8 million combined streams, while “Espresso” garnered 8.1 million streams.

At 25 years, one month, and 10 days old, Carpenter surpasses Ariana Grande, who previously held the record at 25 years, seven months, and 20 days old in February 2019 with “7 Rings” and “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” at the top two spots.

Eminem’s “Houdini” is at number three, followed by Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather” at number four and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” at number five.

Taylor Swift, while not in the top five singles, sets a new personal best on the albums chart with her seventh week at number one with “The Tortured Poets Department,” surpassing her previous record with 2022’s “Midnights,” which spent five weeks at the summit.

Swift is currently in the UK for her Eras Tour and is set to perform at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Billie Eilish’s latest album, “Hit Me Hard And Soft,” is at number two, while Charli XCX’s “Brat” takes the third spot.

The Weeknd’s greatest hits collection “The Highlights” is fourth, and British rock group Sea Girls’ third studio album, “Midnight Butterflies,” debuts at number five, marking their third top-five album following the success of “Open Up Your Head” (2020) and “Homesick” (2022).
