Sean “Diddy” Combs faces new criminal charges in an indictment accusing him of orchestrating a 20-year-long scheme involving sex trafficking and abuse.

Prosecutors allege that the music mogul, also known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, used his vast business empire to transport at least three women—along with commercial sex workers—across state lines and international borders for illicit purposes. This latest indictment significantly expands the case against him, which initially involved only one alleged victim.

One of the women named in the case is Combs’ former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie. Ventura, who previously filed a civil lawsuit against Combs that was swiftly settled, has emerged as a key figure in the allegations.

The indictment outlines claims that Combs facilitated and profited from a network of sexual exploitation, using his influence in the music industry to coerce and manipulate victims. Prosecutors argue that the rapper built a system designed to entrap women, subjecting them to years of abuse.

The charges against Combs include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The indictment does not introduce any additional counts beyond those already leveled against him but significantly broadens the scope of the allegations.

If convicted, the charges could result in a lengthy prison sentence, further threatening the career and legacy of the hip-hop icon. The indictment paints a picture of a calculated and methodical system of abuse, allegedly spanning two decades.

Combs, 55, is scheduled to stand trial on May 5. He has denied all charges and previously pleaded not guilty to the first indictment, which referenced only one victim.

His legal team has maintained that the allegations are baseless and part of a broader attempt to take down a powerful figure in the music industry. However, with the latest indictment involving multiple victims, the case against Combs has grown more severe, placing increased pressure on the defense.

Since his arrest in September, Combs has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, a facility known for housing high-profile federal inmates. His bail was set at $50 million but was denied, with prosecutors arguing that he posed a flight risk due to his extensive wealth and international connections. Combs’ legal team has repeatedly challenged the conditions of his detention, claiming that he is being treated unfairly due to his celebrity status.

The indictment details how Combs allegedly used his businesses, including Bad Boy Entertainment, as tools to facilitate the abuse. Prosecutors claim that women were forced to participate in recorded sexual encounters, known as “freak offs,” with male sex workers.

These encounters were sometimes arranged across state lines, adding to the severity of the sex trafficking allegations. The indictment suggests that Combs’ empire was not just a successful music and business venture but also a means to exploit and control victims over an extended period.

The allegations against Combs gained further attention last year when CNN released security footage showing him violently assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway. The video, which depicted Combs kicking, shoving, and dragging Ventura, sparked widespread condemnation.

Following its release, Combs issued a public apology, acknowledging his actions but denying that they were indicative of a broader pattern of abuse or sex trafficking. His legal team has insisted that while the footage is disturbing, it does not serve as evidence for the serious trafficking charges he now faces.

Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, has pushed back against the prosecution’s claims, arguing that the so-called “freak offs” were consensual encounters and that there is no evidence to support the claim that women were coerced or trafficked.

He has also suggested that the case is being fueled by media sensationalism and opportunistic allegations. Despite these defenses, the growing number of accusations has raised serious concerns about Combs’ past behavior and the potential consequences he now faces.

As the trial date approaches, the case against Sean “Diddy” Combs continues to unfold, drawing intense public scrutiny. Once a revered music mogul, he now finds himself at the center of one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent entertainment history.

With multiple women coming forward and federal prosecutors aggressively pursuing charges, Combs’ fate remains uncertain. Whether he will be able to clear his name or face a lifetime of legal consequences will soon be determined in court.
