Controversial comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has taken a jab at Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu following a recent statement by skit maker Mr. Macaroni.
The incident stems from Mr. Macaroni’s declaration that he would continue to ignore the governor, a stance that has sparked heated debates online.
The skit maker had made the remark in response to an X user who criticized him for allegedly snubbing Sanwo-Olu during public events.
Seyi Law, known for his sharp wit and humorous takes, weighed in on the matter, shifting the blame away from Mr. Macaroni.
According to the comedian, the governor himself is partly responsible for the strained dynamic.
Seyi Law humorously suggested that Sanwo-Olu often acts as though he doesn’t recognize him, yet appears eager to engage with Mr. Macaroni by requesting handshakes.
His remarks quickly added fuel to the ongoing conversation about the relationship between the governor and prominent entertainers.
In a post shared on his X handle, Seyi Law expressed his frustration in a light-hearted yet pointed manner. He wrote,
“Nobody should blame Macaroni for the way he speaks to Gov. @jidesanwoolu. Gov. BOS will see me and act like he doesn’t know me, but he will be begging Macaroni for a handshake. Everybody get out.”
The post drew mixed reactions, with some applauding Seyi Law for calling out the governor, while others criticized the comedian for his seemingly playful approach to a serious issue.
The exchange highlights the growing tension between some Nigerian entertainers and political figures. Mr. Macaroni, known for his vocal criticism of government policies and his advocacy for social justice, has often been at odds with Sanwo-Olu.
His decision to publicly snub the governor reflects his dissatisfaction with the current administration, and Seyi Law’s comments further underscore the complex relationship between entertainers and those in power.
