Nigerian Afrobeats star Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, lit up the celebrations in Spain on Saturday night as he delivered an electrifying live performance at Barcelona’s victory party.

The Spanish giants had just edged past fierce rivals Real Madrid in a thrilling Copa del Rey final, winning 3–2 after extra time.

Skales, known for his infectious energy and massive 2015 hit “Shake Body,” was specially invited to perform at the exclusive event, adding a unique Afrobeats flavor to the football club’s jubilant atmosphere.

During the party, Skales had the memorable opportunity to meet Barcelona’s breakout star Lamine Yamal, who had a sensational night on the pitch.

The 16-year-old winger dazzled fans and critics alike, providing two crucial assists that paved the way for Barcelona’s hard-fought victory.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Skales captured his brief but warm interactions with Yamal and Barcelona’s talented left-back, Alejandro Balde. “FORÇA BARÇA!!! Felicidades Barcelona!! @lamineyamal @alejandrobalde It was an honor to meet you all and perform at your celebration party,” Skales wrote, accompanying the video with joyful emojis and scenes from the unforgettable night.

As Skales took the stage to perform “Shake Body,” the atmosphere in the venue reached new heights.

Players, friends, and club staff could be seen singing along and dancing to the hit track that has transcended borders since its release.

Speaking to his fans in a short message after the event, Skales said, “This is a dream come true for me. Performing for Barcelona, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and seeing them vibe to my music — it’s a blessing I can’t even fully describe. Thank you, Barcelona family!”

His words echoed the pride and excitement he felt in bridging Nigerian music with global football culture.

Interestingly, Skales’ bond with some of Barcelona’s young stars dates back months before the party. Earlier in March, videos surfaced online showing Lamine Yamal, alongside Spanish internationals Nico Williams and Samu Omorodion, dancing enthusiastically to “Shake Body” after Spain’s win over the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.

The footage quickly went viral, with fans worldwide impressed by the players’ rhythm and energy. The incident clearly left a lasting impression, as Yamal’s evident love for the song resurfaced during Barcelona’s latest celebration.

In fact, a few days after the viral dance, another heartwarming clip emerged: Yamal teaching Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué and popular Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos how to groove to “Shake Body.” Skales, proud of this unexpected endorsement from the Spanish football scene, pinned the video to the top of his Instagram page.

“When legends vibe to your music, you know you’re doing something right,” he said in another Instagram Story post, expressing gratitude to his growing fanbase in Europe and beyond.

With Yamal set to turn 18 this July, it’s clear that the young winger is not only blessed with incredible football skills but also has impressive dance moves to match his passion for Skales’ music.

Whether or not Yamal is a fan of Skales’ entire discography remains to be seen, but his affection for “Shake Body” is unmistakable.

The iconic track, featured on Skales’ Man of the Year album released in 2015, continues to break barriers nearly a decade later — a testament to the enduring power of good music and global cultural connections.
