Kim Petras, the German pop sensation, has regrettably announced the cancellation of all her summer festival performances this year due to undisclosed health issues. In a heartfelt statement, she expressed her devastation at having to make this decision but emphasized that it was under medical advice.

Although she did not specify the nature of her medical problems, Petras had been slated to perform at prominent festivals such as Primavera Sound in Barcelona and London’s Mighty Hoopla.

Notwithstanding the setback, Petras reassured her fans of her love and promised to make it up to them, pledging to return stronger than ever.

The cancellation comes at a pivotal time in Petras’s career, following her groundbreaking win at the Grammy Awards in 2023 as the first openly transgender artist to triumph in a major category for her collaboration with Sam Smith on “Unholy.”

The success of “Unholy” also marked Petras’s first UK number one hit, a milestone she celebrated as a representation of progress for transgender visibility in the music industry.

Beyond music, Petras has ventured into acting, appearing in Jennifer Lopez’s film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” alongside notable stars like Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Sofia Vergara, and Keke Palmer.

Unfortunately, the 31-year-old artist has had to cancel additional performances, including those at the Primavera Sound festival in Porto and the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, as she prioritizes her health and well-being.
