Taylor Swift has expressed her profound shock and sadness after a brutal attack on children at a dance class inspired by her music in Southport.

In an Instagram post, the 34-year-old singer shared her continuous horror over the incident, lamenting the loss of life, innocence, and the severe trauma inflicted on the victims, their families, and first responders.

She conveyed her deep sympathy, struggling to find adequate words for the grieving families.

She wrote:

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock…

“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders.

“These were just little kids at a dance class,” she added.

“I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

The attack, which took place on Monday at a Swift-themed dance class, resulted in the deaths of three girls, aged nine, six, and seven. Eight other children sustained stab wounds, with five in critical condition. Two adults were also injured while trying to protect the children.

A 17-year-old boy from Lancashire has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, though the motive remains unclear and it is not believed to be terror-related.

Witnesses described the horrifying scene, likening it to a horror movie, with children screaming and bleeding as they fled.

In response, Swift’s fans have raised over £100,000 through a JustGiving campaign to support the funerals of the deceased children and aid the families of the injured.
