Nigerian international star Tems has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by securing the highest peak for a Nigerian female artist on Apple Music US.
Her debut album, ‘Born in The Wild’ soared to No. 5 on the Apple Music Album Chart, setting a new record for the highest charting position for an album by a Nigerian female artist.
Through this album, Tems intricately chronicles her personal and artistic evolution, blending RnB and new soul influences with explorations into Afrobeats and hip hop.
Featuring 18 tracks, the album includes notable guest appearances by Afrobeats sensation Asake and Grammy-winning rapper J Cole.Tems joins an elite group of Nigerian artists whose projects have reached the top 5 of the Apple Music US Album chart.
This achievement places her alongside industry heavyweights such as Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
Notably, Davido’s ‘Timeless,’ Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them,’ and Wizkid’s ‘S2’ EP all peaked at No. 2, while Asake’s ‘Work of Art’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ attained No. 4 positions.
Additionally, Seyi Vibez’s ‘NAHAMciaga’ EP and Olamide’s ‘Unruly,’ along with Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos,’ all reached the No. 5 spot, further solidifying Tems’s position among the top echelons of Nigerian music.
