Afrobeats singer Tems has unveiled the trailer for her upcoming album “Born in the Wild,” set for release in May 2024. Fresh from her performance at Coachella, the one-minute video showcases young children playing in a park, hinting at the album’s exploration of Tems’ journey from childhood to womanhood.

The nostalgic video depicts young Tems growing up in Lagos suburbs, featuring scenes of her home life with her mother in the kitchen and teasing a track titled “Born in the Wild,” likely to be a centerpiece of the album.

During her performance at Coachella, Tems also treated fans to an unreleased track from the upcoming album, where she sampled the classic 1999 song “Love Me Jeje” by Seyi Sodimu from the album “Born In Africa.” This preview, coupled with the album’s title and themes, suggests that “Born in the Wild” will delve into Tems’ upbringing and cultural influences, providing insights into the woman she has become.

The album’s title bears resemblance to “Born in Africa,” adding a layer of connection to Tems’ roots and musical inspirations.
