On June 2, 2024, NPR featured Tems on their Tiny Desk stage, where she performed songs from her forthcoming debut album, ‘Born In The Wild.’ Supported by a live band, Tems began with ‘Me & U,’ a single nominated for Best Gospel/Inspiration Song at the 2024 BET Awards.

She then performed ‘Ice T’ from her debut EP, ‘For Broken Ears.’Tems introduced the audience to ‘Unfortunate,’ an unreleased RnB song from her upcoming album, followed by another new track, ‘Forever,’ which blends Funk, Jazz, and Rumba elements, offering a preview of ‘Born In The Wild.’

She concluded with her latest single, ‘Love Me Jeje,’ which samples the classic Nigerian song by Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello.

This performance marks Tems’ second Tiny Desk appearance, following her 2022 home performance promoting her sophomore EP, ‘If Orange Is A Place.’

Her latest performance is part of NPR’s celebration of Black women, with Tems among nine Black female artists featured.

Her debut album, ‘Born In The Wild,’ set for release on June 7, 2024, will include 18 tracks and guest appearances from Nigerian Grammy-nominated star Asake and American hip hop artist J. Cole.
