Omoni Oboli has officially announced that her latest film, The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3, is set to premiere in cinemas on October 18, 2024. The film is the third installment in the Wives on Strike series, following the success of the first two movies released in 2016 and 2018.
The series, known for its satirical approach, follows a group of women who withhold sex from their husbands to push them into advocating for social justice, particularly against child marriage and gender-based violence. Oboli’s announcement promises a gripping continuation of the story that will keep audiences engaged.
She wrote:

The Uprising is a compelling tale that delves into themes of love, friendship, loss, betrayal, and resilience. The plot centers around a widow whose life is thrown into chaos when her only child is kidnapped. With time running out, she must face unimaginable challenges and confront the darkest aspects of human nature.

The film is produced by Dion Vision Films and distributed by Nile Entertainment, marking Nile’s first venture under its distribution arm, signaling a promising new chapter for the company.
