President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to legendary Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Alimotu Shadiya Anifowoshe.

The news of Alhaja Shadiya’s passing was announced by K1 on his official Instagram page on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

The post, accompanied by a heartfelt photograph of the Fuji maestro with his late mother, reflected his deep sorrow and the profound loss he feels.

K1 acknowledged the pivotal role his mother played in shaping his life and career, describing her as a strong influence and a source of unwavering support.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of King Wasiu Ayinde’s beloved mother. May her soul rest in peace, Alhaja Alimotu Shadiya Omoakeredolu Aya Anifowoshe. Iya rere. Sun re oo,” K1 wrote in the emotional caption.

The statement resonated with fans and colleagues, who flooded his comment section with messages of sympathy and prayers for the repose of his mother’s soul.

The outpouring of support highlighted the immense respect and admiration the late Alhaja Shadiya commanded within and beyond her son’s circle.

In addition to sharing the news, K1 posted a video of a telephone conversation he had with President Tinubu. He captioned it, “The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria called to commiserate with the King of Fuji Music.

The video captured a touching moment between the two as the President comforted K1 with kind words and empathy.

Their exchange also included light-hearted banter, reflecting the longstanding camaraderie between the Fuji legend and the nation’s leader.

President Tinubu, known for his personal connection with cultural icons, spoke warmly during the call. He described Alhaja Shadiya as a remarkable mother who raised an extraordinary son.

Your mother was a pillar of strength and a guiding light in your life. Her legacy lives on in the incredible career and life you’ve built,” Tinubu said.

The President reassured K1 of his support during this difficult period, adding, “Take solace in the memories of her love and the impact she had on you and so many others.”

The tragic news of Alhaja Shadiya’s death comes at a time when K1 is already mourning the loss of his first wife, Alhaja Hafsat Anifowoshe, who passed away just days earlier on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

Hafsat, who was 65 years old, succumbed to an undisclosed illness. Her death was another devastating blow to the Fuji legend, who has faced a particularly challenging start to the year.

Hafsat Anifowoshe was a notable figure in her own right, remembered as a loving wife and mother. She was the mother of Idayat Anifowoshe, who serves as the Special Assistant on Special Duties to Dr. Mayor Muibi Folawiyo, the executive chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Authority.

Her contributions to her family and her community were celebrated by those who knew her, and her passing has left a significant void.

As K1 grapples with these personal losses, the support from fans, friends, and dignitaries has been overwhelming.

Messages of condolence have poured in from across the country and beyond, with many acknowledging the strength and resilience the musician has shown during this trying time.

His relationship with his late mother and wife, both pillars of his personal and professional life, has been widely admired and respected.

The consecutive losses of Alhaja Shadiya and Alhaja Hafsat mark a somber chapter for the Fuji icon, who has often spoken about the importance of family in his life.

Despite the grief, K1 continues to receive an outpouring of love and support, reminding him that he is not alone.

The legacies of the two women he mourns are a testament to the profound impact they had on his life and the lives of those around them.
