Tiwa Savage, known for her talents as a singer, songwriter, and actor, has recently unveiled the soundtrack album for her debut feature film, ‘Water & Garri’. Produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, the movie premiered on May 10, 2024, on Prime Video, accompanied by the full soundtrack released through EMPIRE.
In anticipation of the soundtrack album, Tiwa Savage treated fans to the single ‘Lost Time’, a track produced by Khari ‘Needlz’ Cain and co-produced by Poo Bear, both renowned for their work with top-tier artists like Bruno Mars, Drake, and Justin Bieber.
The immersive soundtrack album, curated by Tiwa Savage herself, comprises 10 original songs showcasing her versatility, with guest appearances from notable artists across Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop genres.
Grammy-nominated stars such as Olamide and Ayra Starr, alongside celebrated figures like ASA and Richard Bona, contribute to the album’s diverse soundscape.
Additional guest artists featured on the album include Cortez, Black Sherif, Reekado Banks, Young Jonn, Mystro Sugar, and The Cavemen, collectively enhancing the richness of the musical experience.
‘Water & Garri’ marks a significant milestone in Tiwa Savage’s career, as she not only takes on her first lead role in a feature film but also serves as its Executive Producer.
In the film, she portrays the character of Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer grappling with personal and societal challenges upon her return to her native home ‘Eastside’ after a decade abroad.
As Aisha navigates through a landscape of escalating violence and heightened tensions, she must confront her past, reconcile with her loved ones, and come to terms with the scars she carries.
