Toke Makinwa, the well-known media personality, has openly shared that she is now open to the possibility of becoming a second, third, or even fourth wife if the right opportunity comes along.

In a recent episode of her podcast Toke Moments, she made this candid admission while chatting with her guest.

At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to marry again, as a second, third, fourth or fifth wife, I will take it,” she stated, making it clear that she has shifted her perspective on marriage.

This statement reflects her openness to unconventional paths to love and companionship, showing that she’s ready to embrace whatever life brings her way.

This declaration comes after Toke had previously discussed the challenges of being single and childless at 40, a topic she delved into in an earlier episode of her podcast.

She expressed how this situation often brought her to tears, a reflection of the emotional weight she carries with her.

“I am 40, I am single, and I am childless. I said it, and I didn’t die, which always made me tear up,” she confessed.

However, Toke emphasized that she does not allow herself to wallow in self-pity. Instead, she chooses to focus on her achievements and the love she receives from her close circle.

Her ability to shift her focus from what she doesn’t have to what she has accomplished speaks to her strength and resilience.

Toke further elaborated on how she views her life at this stage, proudly acknowledging her successes. “I look at my life like I am 40 and a boss, have built an empire, I am one of the most resounding voices in Africa,” she said, highlighting her career as a media mogul and the platform she has built for herself.

Despite the societal pressures and expectations that often come with turning 40, especially regarding marriage and motherhood, Toke embraces her life as a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and the meaningful relationships she has nurtured along the way.

Marriage and divorce also came up in the conversation, where Toke opened up about the possibility of experiencing another divorce had she remarried after her first marriage ended.

Reflecting on her first marriage to fitness expert Maje Ayida, which ended in 2016 after allegations of adultery, Toke candidly shared how she feels about the entire ordeal.

She admitted that she was blamed for the collapse of the marriage, despite her ex-husband fathering a child with another woman.

People had different versions of what they thought my marriage was,” she explained, pointing out how these misconceptions added to the trauma she experienced during and after the divorce.

Toke also discussed the emotional toll of having her personal life scrutinized by the public, especially as she was portrayed as the villain in the breakdown of her marriage.

It left me traumatized, as I was the victim,” she reflected. This statement underscores the complexity of her experience, where the reality of being hurt by a partner was overshadowed by public opinion.

Despite the challenges, Toke’s openness about her journey serves as a reminder of the strength it takes to rebuild one’s life and identity after such painful experiences.

It also highlights her determination to embrace her own story, regardless of the judgment others may cast.
