Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh and her bodyguard, identified as Gbenga, have been summoned to appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 6 on August 24, 2024, to respond to allegations of assault and trespass.
The summons, part of a legal case numbered CR/359/2024, was filed by Elvis Abuyere, the Chief Executive of Skyewise Group Limited, a car dealership based in Abuja. The case stems from a transaction in January 2024, when Dikeh approached the company, which has a dealership relationship with Mikano Motors, to purchase a brand-new Changan Uni-K 2023 model.
The actress initially paid for the vehicle by surrendering her used Lexus, valued at 37 million naira, and making an additional payment of 3.5 million naira, with an agreement to complete the remaining balance of 85 million naira within three months.
However, Dikeh failed to fulfill the payment agreement by the April deadline, prompting Abuyere to reclaim the car on May 1 after unsuccessful attempts to collect the outstanding balance.
Despite eventually making partial payments totaling 42 million naira in three installments, Dikeh still owes 2.5 million naira. The situation escalated on July 30, when Dikeh contacted the car dealership to have her car serviced.
After the maintenance was completed, the company requested the remaining balance, but tensions flared when Dikeh allegedly forced her way onto the premises in Maitama with her bodyguard and two other women, leading to accusations of “criminal trespass.”
The actress is also accused of assaulting Abuyere and several of his staff members during the incident, which reportedly disrupted business operations, caused damage to property, and included threats to tarnish the dealership’s reputation on social media.
These allegations have now led to legal proceedings that could have significant implications for Dikeh, a well-known figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
