Travis Scott has announced a performance at Co-op Live music venue despite ongoing issues causing delays in its opening. The rapper’s Circus Maximus Tour will hit Manchester on July 13, among 12 new UK and European dates.

The venue’s £365m launch was postponed due to power testing delays, affecting scheduled shows by Peter Kay, Olivia Rodrigo, and others. Co-op Live, set to be the UK’s largest venue with 23,500 seats, plans to open on May 14 with Elbow’s performance after recent cancellations, including A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s due to technical issues.

Tim Leiweke, Oak View Group’s CEO, apologized for the setbacks, assuring efforts to ensure safety and readiness for the May opening. Issues surfaced after a test event in April, leading to rescheduling of shows, including Kay’s stand-up performances and gigs by The Black Keys and Rodrigo.

Notably, several acts, like Keane and Take That, were moved to the AO Arena. Despite upcoming performances by renowned artists such as The Eagles and Nicki Minaj, only a test event by Rick Astley has taken place, prompting the arena’s general manager’s resignation.

The Co-op Group, a sponsor not responsible for venue operations, emphasized addressing the impact on ticketholders as a priority. They highlighted plans for independent safety verification to reassure attendees. Despite challenges, stakeholders are working to resolve issues and ensure a successful launch for Co-op Live.
