Outspoken social critic Verydarkman recently revealed that ₦78 million of the ₦180 million allegedly stolen from his NGO’s account has been successfully recovered.
This announcement follows his earlier outcry on Instagram, where he disclosed the alarming breach, claiming that hackers had siphoned a significant amount from the organization’s funds. The incident quickly drew widespread attention, sparking debates and mixed reactions across social media.
Verydarkman’s initial revelation on Friday was met with skepticism from many, who questioned the legitimacy of his claims. Critics voiced doubts about the incident’s authenticity, with some demanding more transparency regarding the alleged hacking and subsequent loss. Despite the backlash, his supporters rallied around him, urging a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice and accountability.
On Sunday, the social critic provided an update on the situation via his Instagram page, sharing progress in the recovery process. Expressing gratitude for the support he had received, Verydarkman confirmed that a substantial portion of the stolen funds had been retrieved. According to him, the recovered ₦78 million is a step forward, but the investigation is far from over.
In his statement, Verydarkman revealed additional details about the case, indicating that one of the suspects involved had fled to Ghana. “Thanks to the people who called to check up on me. I also want to thank God for the process so far: we have been able to recover ₦78 million, even though the suspect pointed out that the person he did it with has run to Ghana, so hopefully, we would be going to Ghana very soon,” he said.
As the recovery efforts continue, the case remains a hot topic on social media, with discussions centered around cybersecurity, NGO accountability, and the challenges of managing large financial assets.
For Verydarkman, the journey to reclaim the full amount is ongoing, but his recent update provides hope that the stolen funds will be entirely recovered and justice served.
