American actor Bill Cobbs has passed away at the age of 90. Known for his memorable roles as security guard Reggie in “Night At The Museum” (2006) and as Whitney Houston’s manager Bill Devaney in “The Bodyguard” (1992), Cobbs also appeared in the sequel “Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb” (2014).

He died on Tuesday evening in Inland Empire, California, surrounded by family, and is believed to have died of natural causes.

Cobbs’ illustrious career includes notable roles such as Arthur Chaney in “Air Bud,” Moses the Clock Man in “The Hudsucker Proxy,” and Dr. Elton Lloyd in “Sunshine State.”

His extensive TV credits feature appearances on popular shows like “The Sopranos,” “The West Wing,” “Sesame Street,” and “ER.” Throughout his career, Cobbs acted in 200 films and TV programs, earning widespread recognition and respect in the industry.

In 2020, Cobbs won an Emmy award for outstanding limited performance in a daytime program for the series “Dino Dana.” Wendell Pierce, who worked with Cobbs on “I’ll Fly Away” and “The Gregory Hines Show,” described him as a “father figure” in a statement on X.

N Pierce expressed his commitment to honoring Cobbs’ memory by dedicating himself to creating work that Cobbs would have been proud of.
