Madam Elizabeth Evoeme, fondly remembered as Ovularia from the beloved 80s TV sitcom ‘The New Masquerade,’ has passed away at the age of 81. Born on December 1, 1942, Ovularia’s demise was confirmed by a family member, who stated that she died surrounded by loved ones.
The Evoeme Emekalam family released a statement expressing gratitude to fans, friends, and colleagues for their support and requested privacy during this time of grief.
In the statement, the family notified the public, friends, and fans of Ovularia’s passing, emphasizing her impact and the love she received from her family and fans alike. They thanked everyone for their support and urged respect for their privacy.
Ovularia’s daughter, Justina Ngozi Evoeme, based in London, described her mother’s death as painful and shocking, expressing the need to come to terms with the loss.
The news of Ovularia’s passing comes after a false rumor in November 2019, when a Twitter post sparked speculation about her death. Ovularia herself clarified that she was not seriously ill and condemned those behind the false reports, expressing her dismay at the rumors.
Chika Okpala, known for his role as Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwaogbe in ‘The New Masquerade,’ also debunked the rumors, confirming Ovularia’s well-being at that time.
