Veteran Kannada actor Dwarakish, renowned for his comedic prowess, passed away at 81 in Bengaluru due to respiratory illness. Starting as a supporting actor, he quickly rose to fame with his comedic roles in films like “Veera Sankalpa” and became synonymous with laughter in the industry.

Transitioning to producing and directing, he left an indelible mark on Sandalwood, remaking Tamil and Telugu hits in Kannada, including “Bhagyavantharu” and “Nee Bareda Kadambari,” amassing a filmography of 19 directorial ventures and nearly 50 productions.

Dwarakish’s collaborations, notably with Kannada star Vishnuvardhan, yielded memorable films like “Apthamithra” and “Kalla Kulla,” forging enduring bonds in the industry. Tributes poured in from Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Karnataka CM Siddaramiah, underscoring his impact beyond regional borders. Also other celebrities mourned his loss on social media.

His mortal remains will be honored at Ravindra Kalakshetra before the final rites in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet, allowing fans to bid their farewells.
