Chief Femi Esho, the esteemed chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, has passed away at the age of 77. His daughter, Bimbo Esho, announced on Tuesday in Lagos that her father died on Monday after a brief illness.

Known affectionately as Baba Esho or Baba Musician, he was a prominent figure in the Nigerian music industry.Baba Esho was not only the chairman of the Evergreen Musical Company but also the founder of the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.

He was a mentor to many enthusiasts of Highlife music and was celebrated for his dedication to preserving the musical heritage of various Nigerian and African genres, including Juju, Sakara, Apala, and Afrobeat.

His contributions to the music world have left an indelible mark, ensuring the longevity of these rich musical traditions.
