Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has shared that he is still dealing with lingering leg pain years after surviving a tragic car accident.

The artist, who has undergone four surgeries since the 2021 crash, revealed in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo that he is scheduled for a fifth procedure due to persistent discomfort.

The accident, which claimed one life and left three others injured, was a life-altering event that confined Victony to a wheelchair for nearly a year. Despite making significant progress in his recovery, he admitted that the pain remains a constant part of his daily life.

Speaking about his experience, the Soweto hitmaker acknowledged that he has learned to live with his condition, choosing to embrace it as part of his journey. “My leg still hurts. I am still going to do another surgery. I’m living it. I have just accepted that experience,” he stated.

While he doesn’t take pride in the ordeal, he recognizes that it has shaped him into the person he is today. “It’s what is making me who I am today. That’s my story. I don’t want to happily identify with it, but it’s part of my story,” he added. His words reflect a deep sense of resilience and acceptance, showing his determination to move forward despite the challenges.

Victony also recounted the harrowing aftermath of the accident, revealing that he was in a coma for three to four days before regaining consciousness. Waking up to the news that a life had been lost in the crash left him grappling with intense emotions, including survivor’s guilt. “I suffered from survival guilt after finding out that someone died from the accident,” he admitted. The weight of the tragedy initially overwhelmed him, but he eventually found a way to cope, allowing himself to heal both physically and emotionally.

The singer’s candid revelation about his ongoing struggles serves as a powerful reminder of the lasting effects of traumatic experiences. While he continues to battle the physical pain and the emotional scars left by the accident, his story is one of perseverance and self-acceptance.

Victony’s ability to channel his pain into his music has not only fueled his rise in the industry but has also inspired many of his fans. As he prepares for another surgery, his journey remains a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
