Wizkid, the Nigerian music superstar, has unveiled his sixth studio album, “Morayo,” on Friday, November 22nd, 2023, through his imprint Starboy Entertainment and in partnership with RCA Records.

This deeply personal project, titled “I see joy” in Yoruba, is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.

Back in July, Wizkid expressed his excitement, declaring it the best album he’d ever created, promising that this was just the beginning of an upward trajectory.

The 16-track album is a rich tapestry of musical styles, featuring a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul.

It incorporates previously released hits like “Piece of My Heart” alongside collaborations with renowned artists such as Asake, Tiakola, Jazmine Sullivan, and Anaïs. The tracklist is as follows:

“Piece of My Heart,” featuring Brent Faiyaz, achieved significant commercial success, peaking at No. 4 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart and No. 7 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

Wizkid and Asake received a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance in 2025 for their collaborative track, “MMS.”
