Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has made an appearance in Ryan Reynolds’ latest film, portraying Welshpool, a Welsh version of Deadpool, in the Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Mullin, who joined Wrexham in 2021, has played 122 games and scored 88 goals for the club. Reynolds highlighted Mullin’s role on X, praising the character Welshpool as particularly deadly.
Additionally, Wrexham teammate Ollie Palmer made a cameo in the movie as a bar patron.”Deadpool & Wolverine” achieved significant box office success, earning $205 million (£159.5 million) in North America during its debut weekend and securing a spot in the top 10 openings of all time.
Wrexham AFC, purchased by Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, has been on an upward trajectory, gaining promotion for the second consecutive season.
The club is set to play its first League One game on August 10.The journey of Wrexham AFC has been chronicled in the Disney+ series “Welcome To Wrexham.”
Country singer Dolly Parton was brought in to help promote the latest series after discovering her Welsh heritage.
Transport for Wales announced in April that two of its trains would be named in honor of Reynolds and McElhenney.
