Nollywood director Jade Osiberu has announced her latest film project, Half of Me, sparking excitement within the industry. In an Instagram post on October 30, 2024, Osiberu shared her pride in the team behind this new work, praising the high-quality performances, cinematography, production design, directing, and storytelling.

This post hinted at the ambition of Half of Me and highlighted Osiberu’s commitment to creating impactful cinema, describing the upcoming release as a “feast” for audiences.

“We shot something special. So so proud of the entire team that worked on this, the performances, cinematography, production design, directing, the story! Prepare for a feast! Super proud of Director @orobosa_ikp DP @lucas_gram01 & Line Producer @iamizuoba,” the post said.

Osiberu’s return to filmmaking comes after a purposeful year-long hiatus, during which she focused on preparing for a Christmas film. Known for her meticulous approach to storytelling, she explained that her silence over the past year was spent “cooking” something special for audiences.

She announced that a new holiday-themed film will premiere on Prime Video in December, building anticipation for both Half of Me and her Christmas project, which she describes as a heartwarming and visually beautiful addition to her portfolio.

In addition to the holiday film, Osiberu emphasized the value of collaborating with a mix of actors and Afrobeats stars. Expressing her admiration for the cast, she acknowledged the honor of working with performers she has long respected, as well as some of Afrobeats’ biggest names.

This collaboration not only adds excitement but also aligns with the cultural celebration of Nigeria’s “Detty December” season, where music, dance, and festivities come alive.

Known for her successful crime thrillers like Gangs of Lagos and Brotherhood, Osiberu has carved out a unique space in Nollywood, capturing urban narratives that resonate deeply with Nigerian audiences.

Half of Me is expected to be another compelling project in her filmography, featuring notable talents like Martha Ehinome, Nancy Isime, and Uzor Arukwe. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the film promises to reflect Osiberu’s signature storytelling depth and cinematic quality.

With Half of Me and her holiday film set to release in the coming months, Osiberu’s upcoming projects mark her as a key figure in the evolution of Nollywood. Her work continues to elevate the industry’s global profile, engaging audiences with stories rooted in Nigerian culture and contemporary issues.

As both films prepare for their premieres, fans eagerly anticipate how these stories will unfold, further solidifying Osiberu’s influence in Nigerian cinema and her dedication to high-quality, culturally resonant storytelling.
