A fourth Bridget Jones film, “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy,” is in production, with Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, and Emma Thompson reprising their roles. Set for US release on Valentine’s Day 2025, the film follows Bridget in her 50s, a mother of two and widowed after Mark Darcy’s death.

While the production studio hasn’t commented on the film’s adherence to the novel’s storyline, author Helen Fielding has penned the script, promising a fresh take on Bridget’s adventures.

Zellweger returns as Bridget Jones, joined by Grant as Daniel Cleaver, and Thompson as Bridget’s obstetrician. New additions to the cast include Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, with rumors suggesting Woodall will play Bridget’s younger love interest.

Fielding’s decision to write out Mark Darcy from the series aims to preserve Bridget’s relatable struggles and humor, ensuring the film captures the essence of the beloved character’s journey anew.
