Abhishek Bachchan is set to make a homecoming to the Housefull franchise, joining the cast for the fifth installment alongside Akshay Kumar. Abhishek first joined the series in Housefull 3, portraying the character Bunty, a wannabe-rapper with a comedic twist.
Excited about his return, Abhishek looks forward to reuniting with co-stars Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh, as well as collaborating again with Tarun Mansukhani, known from their work on Dostana.
The upcoming film, Housefull 5, will be shot aboard a cruise liner, with production scheduled to begin in the UK in August. The worldwide release date is set for June 6, 2025.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala expresses his enthusiasm for bringing Abhishek back into the comedic fold, citing his dedication, comedic timing, and sincerity as assets that will enhance the film.
Sajid’s Housefull franchise has been a resounding success in Bollywood comedy, with the first installment released in 2010. The series has since seen sequels in 2012, 2016, and 2019.
While the first two films were directed by Sajid Khan, subsequent installments were helmed by Sajid-Farhad and Farhad Samji. The franchise has featured a rotating cast of stars, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and various others, with each installment introducing new faces to the ensemble.
