About Collab Drops FAQ's

  • What should I consider when choosing a package?

    Choose a package based on:

    • The number of campaigns you intend to run
    • The number of Collab Drops projects you require
    • Whether you want featured visibility
    • The number of Social Boost creatives needed
    • The scale and frequency of your promotions

    Example

A musician planning two Collab Drops campaigns and a Social Boost push involving up to 10 creatives may consider the Basic Plan.

    You could use:

Project 1 for dancers to create a dance challenge.

Project 2 for content creators to create TikTok or Instagram Reels using the same song.

One song. Different creatives. Different ideas. More opportunities for exposure.

A brand running several monthly campaigns may need a higher plan with more projects and Social Boost creatives.

  • A featured project attracts more attention to your project. It makes it easier for more freelancers to find your project. Your project will:

    • Stand out from standard listings
    • Reach more suitable freelancers
    • Encourage more applications

The free plan does not include featured projects.

All the Collab Drops project allowances shown under the paid packages can be featured according to the package limits.

  • The free plan allows a new employer to create up to two Collab Drops projects.

    However:

    • Free projects cannot be featured.
    • The plan does not include Social Boost creatives.
    • Employers must upgrade to access featured projects and Social Boost.

The free trial gives you an opportunity to explore the project-creation process and begin receiving applications from suitable freelancers.

    • Original videos
    • Dance challenges
    • Skits
    • Product-placement content
    • Reactions
    • Filming or editing
    • Professional creative services
    • Creators who can combine talent with audience influence

Use Social Boost when you need:

    • Engagement around published content
    • Relevant reviews or comments
    • More people discovering and watching your content
    • A structured promotional push

    Combine both when you need:

    1. Creatives to produce original campaign content to promote an existing product or content, and
    2. Additional creatives to help increase awareness of published content.
  • Collab Drops allows employers to set the minimum and maximum amount they are prepared to pay each freelancer in USD only.

    When setting the range, consider:

    • Complexity of the work
    • Recording and editing requirements
    • Content length
    • Usage rights
    • Freelancer experience
    • Audience reach
    • Delivery time
    • Number of revisions
    • Number of freelancers required

A realistic payment range attracts stronger applications.

Your employer package determines how many projects you can create. The payment offered to selected Collab Drops freelancers should be budgeted for when creating each project.

  • Your project brief should be written under ‘Description’ when adding a new project. It should explain:

    • Who you are
    • What you are promoting
    • Your campaign objective
    • The content you want
    • Required skills
    • Preferred content style
    • Target audience
    • Required language
    • Content length and format
    • Social media platform
    • Submission deadline
    • Number of freelancers needed
    • Payment range
    • Any required hashtags, links or campaign messages
    • What applicants should include in their applications

A freelancer should be able to understand the assignment without guessing.

Be specific about what each selected freelancer must provide.

Instead of writing: “Promote my song.”

Write: “Create one original 30–60 second vertical video using the provided section of the song. The video should include an original dance routine and be suitable for TikTok and Instagram Reels.”

Instead of writing: “Promote our product.”

Write: “Create one lifestyle video showing how the product fits naturally into your daily routine. Mention two approved benefits and include the campaign hashtag.”

Clear deliverables reduce confusion, delays and disputes.

  • Your title should tell freelancers what the opportunity involves.

    Strong titles

    • “Create a dance challenge for our new Afrobeats single”
    • “Comedy creators needed for a food-delivery campaign”
    • “Film reviewers needed to promote a new Nollywood trailer”
    • “Lifestyle creators needed for a skincare-product launch”
    • “Video editors needed for short-form music content”

    Weak titles

    • “Opportunity available”
    • “Creatives needed”
    • “Apply now”
    • “Urgent promotion”

A clear title attracts more relevant applicants.

  • Filmmakers and producers may consider:

    • Cinematic Shooting
    • Video Editing
    • Storytelling
    • Comedy/Skit Writing
    • Music Reaction Content
    • Meme Creation
    • Street Interviews
    • Lifestyle Integration
    • Audience Engagement

    Example

If you want creators to produce short reaction videos about a film trailer, select Storytelling, Audience Engagement and the most relevant reaction-content skill.

Your selected skills must reflect the actual work—not simply the industry you work in.

  • Brands and businesses may consider:

    • Product Placement
    • Lifestyle Integration
    • Comedy/Skit Writing
    • Storytelling
    • Fashion Styling
    • Street Interviews
    • Couple Content
    • Meme Creation
    • Video Editing
    • Audience Engagement

    Example

If you want a creator to feature a skincare product naturally in a lifestyle video, select Product Placement and Lifestyle Integration.

You may add Video Editing if the creator must deliver a fully edited video.
