Nigerian singer-songwriter Davido has refuted false reports that he was arrested for drug offenses, denouncing them as “entirely untrue.”
He announced on social media his intent to take legal action against those behind the April Fools’ prank article, which claimed he was detained after cocaine was allegedly found on his private jet.
Davido emphasized the irresponsibility of fabricating such serious allegations, regardless of the April Fools’ context. He clarified that he had returned to Nigeria after performing in Uganda and Kenya.
The hoax, initially published by K24 TV, was dismissed as “fake news” by Kenya’s directorate of criminal investigations.
