The 2024 Cannes Film Festival is set to showcase a diverse array of highly anticipated films. Among them is “The Apprentice,” featuring Sebastian Stan as Trump and Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn, competing alongside Francis Ford Coppola’s long-awaited “Megalopolis,” starring Adam Driver.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness,” with Emma Stone leading a star-studded cast, is another standout entry. Other competition highlights include Andrea Arnold’s “Bird” and Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Perez,” featuring Selena Gomez.

Outside the competition, George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” promises excitement, while Kevin Costner’s western “Horizon: An American Saga” adds variety.

With Cannes serving as a platform for potential Oscar contenders, Coppola’s passion project, “Megalopolis,” financed with $120 million of his own money, draws significant attention, as does the honorary Palme d’Or for “Star Wars” creator George Lucas.

Cannes’ selection offers a blend of established auteurs and rising talents, creating anticipation for the cinematic revelations to come.
