Crazy Town lead singer Seth Binzer, known by his stage name Shifty Shellshock, has died at age 49, according to the LA Medical Examiner.

Binzer, who co-founded the band in 1995 with Brett Mazur, passed away on Monday, although the cause of death has not been disclosed.Crazy Town gained fame with their hit single “Butterfly,” which topped the US singles chart and reached number three in the UK.

The band also had UK hits with “Revolving Door” and “Drowning.” Binzer continued performing under the name Crazy Town X, with their last tour in 2023.

Binzer struggled with drug addiction, appearing on reality TV shows “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House.” He admitted to selling drugs and spent three months in prison for attempted burglary.

He is survived by his three sons, Gage, Halo, and Phoenix, with three different partners.
