Fatai Odunsi, the father of Nigerian music sensation Asake, has confirmed that he and his son have reconciled after experiencing a period of strained relations.

Their differences had previously been a source of public attention, especially after Odunsi expressed frustration over what he perceived as a lack of financial support from his son despite the singer’s immense success.

However, in a recent video shared by social media user Mrlilgaga, the elderly man appeared in high spirits as he declared that all issues between them had been resolved. His tone was markedly different from previous statements, as he now spoke with warmth and pride about his son.

In the video, Odunsi, who has been battling an illness, was seen expressing heartfelt prayers for Asake while speaking in Yoruba. “I am proud of him,” he declared, making it clear that his grievances had been put to rest. He took the opportunity to publicly bless his son, wishing him continued success in his music career.

His words reflected not just a change in their relationship but also a deep appreciation for Asake’s efforts to mend their bond. The father’s visible joy and gratitude stood in stark contrast to his earlier claims, where he lamented feeling neglected by his son.

Addressing the initial reason for his outburst against Asake, Odunsi explained that his anger stemmed from the long period of time that had passed since they last saw each other. He placed some of the responsibility on Asake’s mother, stating that she should have questioned her son about his absence.

However, he made it clear that these grievances were now in the past, emphasizing that father and son had fully reconciled. “We have sorted all the problems. We are no longer fighting,” he reassured, indicating that the family rift had been healed.

One of the major gestures that solidified their reconciliation was Asake’s promise to buy his father a new home. According to Odunsi, the singer has already taken steps toward fulfilling this promise, with house agents actively searching for a suitable property.

“Asake said he will do everything that I want. We have settled, no more problems. They are now looking for a new house that he will buy for me,” he said with clear excitement. This assurance from Asake seemed to bring a deep sense of relief to his father, who now appeared confident in his son’s commitment to their relationship.

Beyond his personal needs, Odunsi also revealed that Asake had pledged to take full financial responsibility for his younger half-sister, 11-year-old Zeenat. He affirmed that while the singer had never abandoned his child, he was now making a stronger commitment to her welfare. “He has never denied his child, but he has now promised to take full responsibility,” he said.

In addition, Odunsi shared that Asake had ensured he had everything he needed for an upcoming hospital visit, further proving that their reconciliation was not just in words but backed by tangible actions. With their bond now repaired, Odunsi expressed his gratitude, signaling a hopeful and positive turn in their relationship.
