Funke Akindele Announces Her Latest Upcoming Film, ‘Finding Me’

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has announced her upcoming film, Finding Me, through transition videos on Instagram featuring actors Femi Adebayo and Joseph Benjamin.
In the videos posted on May 14, 2024, the actors transition from wearing suits to native attire, ending with the Finding Me t-shirts.
In the caption of the video, she wrote:
“FINDING ME!!!!!!!!!! 👀👀👀👀👀👀.”
The film will be produced by Akindele’s production company, FAAN, though details about its plot and release date have not been disclosed.
A month earlier, Akindele revealed another upcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, a spinoff from the Jenifa franchise, set to premiere in December 2024.
Akindele is known for her significant contributions to Nollywood, including producing the highest-grossing film in Nigeria, A Tribe Called Judah, which earned over ₦1.4 billion.
She also produced the second and third-highest-grossing films, Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, grossing ₦668 million and ₦636 million, respectively.
Akindele is the most-awarded actress at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), with five wins for roles in productions such as The Return of Sheri Koko (2014), Jenifa’s Diary (2016, 2017, 2020), and Omo Ghetto: The Saga (2022).
